On Friday 21st September the third annual charity golf day was held at Chart Hills.
This year an amazing 16 teams took part in the day. Sarah and Nicky supported some individuals to welcome all the players in the morning before tee off. The supported individuals did an excellent job in making sure that everyone knew about The Grange (2016) Ltd and the work of Friends of Benenden Grange.
The charity golf day brings together friends, family, corporate teams and most importantly the people we support and staff. It goes a long way in raising awareness and essential funds.
The charity raises money to provide additional activities and resources that wouldn’t otherwise be available to the supported individuals. Over the last year, the charity has funded holidays, events, camping equipment, days out, arts and crafts resources, a 2 day professional photoshoot and has made a contribution towards a 7-seater vehicle.
The teams were from Friends of Benenden Grange, Cripps, Compass Group, Cardinus, Axa, NFU Mutual, Aviva, Stanmore, Aston Lark, Rolvenden Bullies, Towergate, Zurich and Open GI.
Following the round of golf, Friends of Benenden Grange joined the teams back at Chart Hills with a group of the people we support and staff for a meal, presentation of prizes and an amazing charity auction whilst entertainment was provided by local band Why Not.
The golf prize winners were:
1st The Marauders of Hull
2nd Cripps Lawyers
3rd Aviva Future Leaders
Nearest the pin winner – Matt Heath from Zurich Insurance
Longest Drive winner – Paul Hodgson – The Insurance Partnership
The final total raised is yet to be fully calculated due to ongoing kind donations but we can share that at this stage it is in excess of an amazing
£10,000!
This will go a long way to support the individuals to have enriched, fulfilled and happy lives.
