Now more than ever, it is important to look after ourselves, something that has not been missed by our teams.   See how our teams have worked creatively to provide opportunities to promote positive well-being for the people we support.

Self Care

Various pamper sessions have been enjoyed by all, staff have led sessions to not only enjoy a facemask and hand massage but also supporting people to make their own facemasks.

Pamper sessions have been a great success with people enjoying having their skin looked after.

Good Food

‘Tryday Friday’ has encouraged people to try and embrace new foods and healthy snacks such as new fruits, juices and nuts.  This enables people to try new foods and also to learn how much better they are for your health than a packet of crisps or bar of chocolate.

Wellbeing breakfasts have been a great success and have encouraged people to bring more variation and creativity to their menu choices.

People have been doing a lot of cooking from scratch and its not only cakes!

Keep Active

As we have seen in our skills sharing posts, keeping active has been a strong focus for individuals.

The ladies in Cranbrook looked after their physical fitness whilst also doing something for Charity by undertaking a sponsored bike ride for Children in Need.

People have been taking part in regular Zumba, Keep Fit, Dance and Yoga sessions as well as getting out for walks within the countryside that we are so fortunate to have on our doorsteps.

When the bowling alleys have been closed, the team brought the bowling alley to us giving people an opportunity to do activities that they love.

Keep Learning

We have several individuals who attend college on a weekly basis.

Skills sharing has provided people with new learning activities and bringing new experiences and pass times to enjoy as shown in the lip balm session that took place in January.

Our staff are learning too, we have our group of mindfulness practitioners who have commenced their 12 week course.  We also have our Adult Care Worker Qualifications about to launch.

I hope you enjoyed the snapshot of the various well-being activities that have been taking place.  There are plenty more plans in the pipeline to make sure people are engaged and active.

Next time, we will share the various activities and events that the teams have been organising for individuals.
